Week 2 of Footloose & Callus-Free: Salt & Baking Soda Bath

Summer in flip flops does a number on your feet, especially if you're nowhere near a beach that you can walk on...or rather a clean beach.  Though fine grain sand is awesome at removing calluses, it's not so great if there are bird droppings mixed in (Canadian Geese poop is especially disgusting).

Week 1 brought us the Listerine approach.  If you missed it, drop by the 1st recipe posting here.

Week 2: The Salt & Soda Approach
In need of a DIY foot soak?  Check out your pantry.  Browsing Pinterest and other blogs, I came across this recipe for baking soda & sea salt at Nuts 4 Stuff.
The directions call for a bucket for me to put my feet in.  Unfortunately, the only bucket in my house is the mop bucket and there is no way I'm putting my tooties in there!  So I'm amending the recipe to use it in my tub.  I'm supposed to have water up to my ankles, so that's going to be around 2-3x the amount of water that this recipe calls for when using a bucket.

Therefore, I'm putting in 1 cup of baking soda & 1 cup of sea salt into my bath water and will be soaking my feet for at least 20 min.

30 min later...

Well, I liked this one better than the Listerine experience.  My feet were really soft when it was done, and although it didn't completely remove the calluses, it did improve them.  I'm rating this one 4/5.

Going into week 3, I did a little web searching.  What other options are out there?  Next week it's time to test out the apple cider vinegar soak from the American Athletic Institute.  I'm apprehensive though...will I have smelly feet when it's done?
